Anthony Brooks, a commercial and fine art photojournalist, was born in Baltimore and raised across 3 continents. The son of a military family, formative years moved through Guantanamo Bay, Sicily, and the American South — dodging Cuban border patrol on one continent, navigating Carnivalé brawls in Sicilian piazzas on another. Each relocation a quiet education in how differently life organizes itself depending on where you're standing. He learned early, to watch first. To understand that one version of normal is just one version among many. Constant travel is what hardens Anthony's visceral approach to image capture.

Anthony's commercial photography earned a 2025 Bronze Clio Award for BET's "45 and Forward" Campaign and he also works as a professional cinematographer--with a body of work that spans feature films, shorts, commercials, and docuseries. Notable credits include Roku Original series Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross and seasons 1 & 2 of the Amazon Studios docuseries Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers--a series that garnered a 2022 Critics' Choice nomination for Best Sports Series.

Anthony is a self-proclaimed "experience collector" — accumulating not things but encounters, distances traveled, evidence of what stays the same and what quietly shifts. What connects the commercial work to the fine art practice  — the conviction that the most honest image is made before the camera is held to the eye Brooks has spent 16 years documenting life across four continents with the same instinct that formed him: watch first, move carefully, and trust that the gap between what the world expects and what's actually there is where the photograph lives.​
